September 30: Krsna Slava of our Circle of Serbian Sisters

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We invite you to our Circle of Serbian Sisters’ Patron Saint’s day: Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope and Love and their mother Sophia, which will take place on the feast-day on Saturday, September 30th. Vespers will begin at 6:30 PM, followed by Slava dinner, which includes spit-roasted lamb and pig. This year’s koumbara of the KSS is Dragana Kubura.

We invite our parishioners and friends of the St. Archangel Gabriel Parish to join our sisters in prayer and commemoration of their patron saints!

New Academic Year 2023-24

Dear Parents and Students,

Today we held a special prayer for the beginning of the new academic year, and so as of Sunday, September 17th we also begin the new academic year of catechism and religious instruction at our Parish.

As before, classes will be held every Sunday after the Divine Liturgy and lunch on the premises of our Parish. All children of elementary and middle school age (grades 1-8) are welcome, regardless of their level of fluency in Serbian – conversations are conducted flexibly in Serbian and/or English as needed.

In discussion with the children today, we have decided on the following curriculum for 2023-24:

  • September to November: we will cover the Divine Liturgy
  • November to the end of January: rehearsing a play for St. Sava’s day
  • February to the end of June: Old Testament stories
